I have a few things for this week to pass along – please read and let me know if you have any questions:
Saturday’s Meet: This week is our first dual meet of the season and we will be swimming at HOME against Kleinwood. It is very important that you reply by Wednesday if you will not be swimming this week. For those of you that don’t know, teams exchange swimmer entries on Thursday with the other team. It is important to know by Wednesday if you won’t be there so that the coaches can arrange relays and events based on who will or won’t be at the meet.
All swimmers need to be at the pool by 7 AM – warm-ups are at 7:15am.
Friday’s Pep Rally: Thanks for all of you who helped set up for the practice meet this past Friday. We will need your help again this Friday for set-up – it will start again at 7pm like last week. Sam Heaton will be sending along an email for pizza orders later this week.
Pictures: Pictures this year will be on May 24th (next Tuesday). There won’t be any practice that day but all swimmers need to be up at the pool no later than 4:30pm. Please wear your team suit if you have one. Order forms are currently hanging on the gate in a plastic folder, or you can contact Gayle Irvin if you have any questions. She can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Last Saturday’s Practice Meet: If you were not able to make Saturday’s practice meet, please make sure you show up to practice this week so the coaches can get a seed time for you. Swimmers are not allowed to enter a meet without a seed time. Please check with Coach Aubrie, Coach Addie or Coach Garrett on getting your seed time scheduled this week.
Swim Team Board: Most of you know that I am retiring as President of the Swim Team Board after this season. Kevin Little will serve as President next year. As a Board, we are always looking for new parents to be involved on the Board and carry the team into the future. We have quite a few new families with younger children that we would love to mentor and show how the team and NWAL operates. If you have a desire to be more involved and serve next year on the Board, please get with any of the Board members. Without volunteers, we won’t be a successful swim team, and without a Board, we won’t have a team at all!!
Great job to our swimmers this past weekend – I look forward to a successful season!
